The 2022 CAPPA Conference
The 2022 CAPPA Conference was held at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska, and hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This year’s theme, “Every Interaction Matters” finally became tangible as some conference attendees visited a variety of educational and informational sessions, and others were expanding on their skill sets in the Supervisor’s Toolkit or Academy on Campus: Level III courses.

Welcome to Lincoln! The city was founded in 1856 as the village of Lancaster on the wild salt marshes of what was to become Lancaster County. Renamed after President Abraham Lincoln, it became Nebraska’s state capital in 1869. The Bertram G. Goodhue–designed state capitol building was completed in 1932, and is the second tallest capitol in the United States. As the city is the seat of government for the state of Nebraska, the state and the United States government are major employers. The University of Nebraska was founded in Lincoln in 1869. The university is the largest in Nebraska with 26,079 students enrolled, and is the city’s third-largest employer.

On Saturday, March 5, the CAPPA Executive Committee met at The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska to finalize plans for CAPPA Conference 2022. My husband Troy and I decided to drive up from Stillwater, Oklahoma and make a weekend of it, since neither of us had ever been to Nebraska.
